Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

We at Retrowow were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen has served our country and the wider Commonwealth with unstinting devotion. We extend our deepest sympathies to her family.
During her seventy-year reign, Her Majesty has presided over many events. These are a selection of historic events from the Queen's life.
- 21 April 1926 - Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary was born in Mayfair, London
- 9 May 1945 - Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret mixed with crowds on VE Day
- 20 November 1947 - Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark married in Westminster Abbey
- 14 November 1948 - Prince Charles was born
- 6 February 1952 - King George VI died and Princess Elizabeth became Queen
- 2 June 1953 - Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey
- 24 to 25 November 1953 - the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh make their first Commonwealth tour, of Bermuda
- 23 December 1953 to 30 January 1954 - Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh make a tour of New Zealand. She was the first British monarch to visit the country
- 3 February 1954 to 1 April 1954 - Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh began a tour of Australia, she was also the first British monarch to visit Australia
- 17 to 20 October 1957 - Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh made state visit to the USA
- 21 January to 1 February 1961 - Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh made a tour of India
- 4 November 1960 - the Queen visited the City of Oxford. She was the first monarch to visit Oxford City, rather than the University
- 20 November 1972 - the Queen and Prince Philip celebrate 25 years of marriage
- 14 November 1973 - the marriage of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips
- 6 February 1977 - the Queen's Silver Jubilee year began
- 29 July 1981 - Prince Charles married Lady Diana Spencer at Westminster Abbey
- 17 to 21 October 1972 - the Queen, Prince Philip and Princess Anne made a state visit to Yugoslavia. Queen Elizabeth became the first British monarch to visit a communist country
- 6 February 2002 - the Queen's Golden Jubilee began
- 17 to 20 May 2011 - the Queen became the first monarch to visit the Republic of Ireland
- 29 April 2011 - the marriage of Prince William to Miss Catherine (Kate) Middleton at Westminster Abbey
- 6 February 2012 - the Queen's Diamond Jubilee began
- 9 April 2021 - the Queen's devoted husband and consort, the Duke of Edinburgh passed away
- 6 February 2022 - the Queen's Platinum Jubilee began
