Retro kitchens
There are not many retro style kitchens out there at the moment and I think this is one of the best.
The Tivoli Yellow Kitchen, right, is from Homebase. The doors have a curved feel which suggests retro and the colour is perfect. The handles also have a retro feel, although a shiny chrome look rather than the satin finish would have looked more in keeping. A blue work top and some blue and yellow tiles might suggest more of a fifties or early sixties look than is shown here. Of course, it is a new kitchen with all the modern conveniences you would expect and you won't ever have to paint the doors!

If money is no object and you want an authentic fifties' look, check out John Lewis of Hungerford. Their Creme de la Creme kitchen is based on the original English Rose kitchen from the fifties. It looks fantastic. You can choose from four different colours.
