Kenilworth in the 60s

This view of Kenilworth is from the early sixties. There is no sign of the De Monfort Hotel which now stands where the yellow building housing Dudley Taylor The Chemist was situated. Kenilworth Town Centre was redeveloped in the sixties with Talisman Square, the main shopping area, being added in 1965.

Kenilworth had a new library, police station and health clinic, as well as the stylish De Montfort Hotel in the 'sixties. The library and police station were constructed of sandstone blocks reflecting the sandstone used to build Kenilworth Castle.
