Over the years, Heartbeat has seen many different kinds of villains, all of whom are interesting characters in their own right. They are all extremely fascinating and help add extra spice to each episode, but here's a selection of some of my personal favourites:
RON COOPER (Season 4 - Arms And The Man) Mentally unstable arms collector who is 'saving it for the next' (war). Excellent performance by David McCallum.
"SWEATY BETTY" and SIMON SUCH (Season 3 - Father's Day) Hilarious mother and son whose crazy antics had me in stitches on multiple occasions. Last scene is just the icing on the cake.
DAVE SLADE AND STEVE CAMERON (Season 4 - Wild Thing) The mysterious "puma" that ended up being just a couple of sheep rustlers.
SANDIE ELIOT (Season 4 - Love Child) Sad story of a mother searching for her child.
JASON BROWN (Season 5 - Toss Up) "Oh no mate, don't smash me GUITAR!" Enough said.
NED AND PETE (Season 7 - Leaving Home) I remember getting really angry with them for torching their van and I can't remember wanting villains to be arrested so much. Hey, i was only 8 and I LOVED cars and vehicles! hehe
EDDIE AINSWORTH (Season 7 - Playing With Trains) Father fresh out of jail who really should have tried to concentrate on his family instead of stealing fur goods.
TED BLUNKETT (Season 7 - The Enemy Within) If only because I thought he was "that guy from Ain't Milk Brilliant" (Paul Whitehouse)
That's all I can think of at the moment. If I can think of more, I'll post them. Obviously, I really like all the Heartbeat villains and I love seeing them get arrested at the end, as is usually the custom. So which ones do you like?
