I have started to really get into 60s music. Where I can find out more about bands from the 60s who still tour the UK? Where is the best place to go and hear live 60s music?

PS love the site guys!!! :)

Well can't really help u with that BUT if u wanna experience an awesome gig I went to this gig of the Rumours of Fleetwood Mac at Birmingham. It was an awesome performance never thought it would be that good as it wasn't the original Fleetwood Mac band though BUT I am telling you they were rocking - pure 60s ; 80's - GREAT ! There are a lot of press stuff out there right now with some good background infos about this whole tour. Just in case you or anyone is interested.

Many thanks Jessica :)

Has anyone seen any Beatle tribute bands, and if so, where and are they any good? Do they tour the whole of the UK or do they just do big venues like the NEC and London (which is no good if you stuck out in the sticks like me).

Cheers!

Fleetwood, very good !

I have seen Riders on the storm in Luxembourg, Tribute band of the Doors, with Ray Manzarek (original orgue player) Robby Krieger (original guitar player), Ian Astbury leader singing, Ty Dennis on the drums (very John Densmore like) and Phil Chen on the bass guitar. They were just amazing ! You should have seen Manzarek playing with his feet on the Orgue, nearly destroying it, and Krieger dancing his fingers on the strings (damn that seems so easy for him...his songs are quite hard to play ^^).

It was just wonderful, this mix of people from all different ages, from children to old man, it was amazing...

So if they're touring in the UK, don't miss it, it's just wonderfull

Otherwise I've hear that Grateful Dead is touring again around Europe...but need to check that, I'm not sure...

Joe Brown is a fantatsic artist from the 60s (you might have seen him performing at the George Harrison tribute concert where he brought the house down).

He's releasing a Very Best Of CD to celebrate his 50 years in showbusiness and is touring the UK to promote that. Everything I've heard about him live has been fantastic so it's worth checking him out when he's near you.

If you're interested his label are running a competition to win a signed copy of the CD and two tickets to see him in concert. To enter just go to the link below:

Hope this helps and you enjoy him if you see him!

Joe Brown talks about 50 years in the business, the George Harrison concert and his best of CD in this interview:

There seem to be a lot of 60s bands still performing but when you look quite often there's only one original member! Practically like Trigger's broom in Only Fools and Horses - after 20 years it's the "same" broom but has had however many new heads and new handles.
